I have heard that Abe Lincoln read much of Thomas Paines works. Thomas Paine was one of the first to condemn slavery in america. Can anyone find me some good sources to support this? Thank you in advance.
The first comment is rubbish. The second I know but thank you for trying.
I know about his influence on the revolutionary war but I am asking if you think he influenced Abraham Lincoln as an individual. Do you think Abe Lincoln read his works at all?

Lincoln read Thomas Paine as a young man living in New Salem. His writings probably influenced Lincoln to suspend belief in God. Lincoln later in life regained his faith in God however.

Lincoln was more influenced by Jefferson- the Declaration of Independence-to be specific.
