As a student in Detroit Public Schools during the 1960’s, this kind of book was purchased by us kids. Remember this? The picture is of the softcover book Abraham Lincoln by Anne Colver. It’s not a large book- only 76 pages. I wonder how many school children read this book? It was first published in 1960. The edition that I own- and is pictured is from 1966. I like the book especially for it’s simplistic yet neat drawings. I thought I would show you a few:
