From the United States, a Chilean woman relaxes her compatriots with attractive sound therapy. For Luna Rukmini it all started when she was invited to a sound therapy demonstration. “I tried it for the first time and was amazed by the depth and transformative power of the sound.”
The world of the Industrial Designer changed in mid-2011 when she had to leave for the United States to work in Marketing and Advertising. In California she specialized in sonotherapy and from then on she has become an international reference in the specialty sound bath training.
His live broadcasts for @Mallsport from the United States have become a hit, especially among those who need to relax and slow down. an intense day…something that sounds good.
How did you get into sonotherapy?
Years ago I was invited to an event where they offered a demonstration of sound therapy. I tried it for the first time and was amazed by the depth and transformative power of the therapy. Then I started attending sessions regularly until I came across a person who offered training in this modality. I immediately knew I wanted to learn more and signed up. At that moment my life changed completely and I understood that this was what I should dedicate my life to. Little by little I began to immerse myself more and more in Sonotherapy and at the same time in other modalities and thus I developed my own practice.
What is the difference between sound therapy and other alternative therapies?
There are many alternative therapies and they are all different. Each has different benefits and I think each person needs to find what works best for him or her. I think the main difference from sound therapy is the use of sounds and vibrations as the main channel of treatment. In other therapies, touch, conversation, channeling, psychology, aromas, etc. are used, but here we use very particular instruments that are tuned to different frequencies and that have a significant impact on our mental, physical, energetic and emotional bodies. .
What are the benefits of sonotherapy?
There are many benefits and more are being discovered as more studies are being developed to understand the impact of vibrations and sounds on people. Some of the most common benefits are: it helps reduce anxiety, tension and stress; It helps with blood circulation; strengthens the nervous system; promotes calm and inner peace; It enhances sleep quality; delivers greater vitality; balances the energy centers; helps dissolve negative beliefs and emotions; provides greater clarity and help in decision making.
healing therapy
What for many may sound like “alternative” due to the use of bells, bowls or metallophones, for others, such as in the United Kingdom and the United States, has become so serious that it meets in formal associations with specializations.
Just as music evokes memories and emotions, Sonotherapy guides them in specific treatments.
How can a person see or feel the benefits of doing therapy like this?
The more a person is exposed to this therapy, the more changes they will notice in their life. I have seen really nice changes in the lives of the people I work with. In addition to Sonotherapy, I do a therapy called Emotional Reprogramming, which includes sonotherapy in addition to other modalities and that helps people re-program limiting beliefs that come from experiences experienced during childhood and that have to do with the way we grew up. and we are influenced (whether by our parents, schools, the media, religion, etc.). Through Emotional Reprogramming we seek to understand the origin of these limitations in order to heal them and live our lives in a harmonious and free way. I myself have benefited deeply from this type of therapy and have seen how my patients have been able to overcome fears, traumas and various limitations – from the fear of public speaking to childhood traumas.
How does a person manage to transmit that tranquility and peace that people who see you perceive in you?
I am extremely happy that people perceive tranquility and peace with me. I believe that in order to transmit anything, you first have to feel it inside yourself. If we are nervous or stressed, we will vibrate at that frequency and that is what the rest will perceive. But if we experience peace and tranquility in our hearts, that is what we will be able to transmit. I personally care a lot about doing my personal development work. I rely on other therapists, my partner and the conscious community that surrounds me to keep myself in a good vibration and thus be able to serve others.
Your classes with Mall Sport are through social networks, where they broadcast from and how people’s reception has been.
We broadcast live on Instagram every Friday at 6:30 p.m. I have the living room of my house adapted as a studio (with lights, microphones, mixers, etc.) since I work a lot virtually. The reception from people has been truly wonderful! I am constantly receiving very nice and loving messages from people who participated in the session, either live or afterwards, from different parts of Chile and sometimes even from other countries as well. It has been a very enriching experience and I am very grateful for all the support and love I have received.
Do you think Chile is a country that needs more of this type of therapy?
I think the whole world needs these types of spaces where people can connect with their inner being, experience calm and be in community. It is important and necessary to be able to find moments of peace and harmony and live life from a sincere and calm place. The therapies are there; What I see is missing in Chile is for people to learn to love themselves and invest in what is really worthwhile for our personal development. Sometimes we waste our time and money on things that we think make us happy but in reality those things only hide or cover up our dissatisfaction temporarily. For example, many of my patients suffer from work stress and are afraid of their bosses. This is a very common thing. Before doing therapy, they sought to forget about stress with temporary solutions (whether it was a good “reel” or watching television or buying something material) but after exposing themselves to moments of encounter and personal development, they have managed to heal and cope with the stress, and at the same time experiencing relaxation and absolute harmony. This helps them develop a different perspective on how to deal with stress and fear and gives them the courage and wisdom to do so. If more people in Chile are exposed to this type of personal work, the happier and more harmonious we will all be.
You feel that alternative therapies are necessary to live calmly and in harmony.
More than the therapies themselves, I believe that what is necessary is to look for ways that serve each of us to be able to live peacefully and in every situation. Therapies are a channel of help for this, but fundamentally what is important is that we manage to find that tranquility and harmony in our daily lives. Unfortunately, many traditional therapies focus on treating specific symptoms rather than looking at the root of the problems and use medications to treat those symptoms. This creates dependency. On the other hand, most alternative therapies tend to have a more holistic and complete approach where the patient can take responsibility for their own health and can heal themselves. The therapist is only the facilitator, the guide, but it is the patient who does the work and heals himself.
